Conrail train APB-1 is Allentown bound at Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania. This is one of the few locations that I photographed that appears to be more open today than it was then.
"Passing the Barn"
The horses don't seem to pay any attention, to NS H76, as it passes their barn on its way back to Allentown.
After making its pickup at Slateford Junction, NS H76 heads back to Allentown.
A pair of Norfolk Southern SD40E's are lugging about 150 empty coal hoppers up the steep grade through Mt. Bethel, PA, on the NS Portland Secondary.
Even with 5 locomotives H76 struggles to crest the grade between Portland and Mount Bethel on snow coated rails as they pass the horse farm at Railroad Ave.
